NAB summons PTI Chief, better-half

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summoned PTI Chairman Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and Pervez Khattak in Toshakhana reference on March 9.
Imran Khan and his wife and PTI’s top guns have been asked to appear before investigators a development which has come shortly after NAB Chairman Aftab Sultan resigned from post.
Aaccountability watchdog is investigating matter of alleged racketeering of gifts by Imran Khan, which he received from other countries. NAB has obtained records of gifts from Cabinet division and government treasury for investigation. NAB Rawalpindi DG is supervising investigation of Toshakhana case.
Earlier, district and sessions court in federal capital approved plea filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan for exemption from physical appearance in Toshakhana case, deferring his indictment again.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal heard case when Khan’s lawyer Gohar Ali Khan and prosecutor Saad Hassan appeared in court. As hearing began, Gohar Ali submitted exemption plea, saying doctors had recommended his client to take rest as he was recovering from bullet wounds after Wazirabad attack.
