KARACHI: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that NAB and Pakistan cannot go together.

NAB is wasting time and destroying people’s lives. Only purpose of NAB is to hold politicians accountable. Talking to media after appearing in NAB court, he said that caretaker government should decide what to do with NAB institution. He said that cases that have been made against us should be prosecuted. Time will tell how long this case will last. I don’t know nature of case and what is our crime. What kind of accountability is this? What kind of justice is it? Many judges retired from these courts and went home. If we do not abolish this institution then country will not function.

He said that Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are political leaders. It is good to have meetings between politicians. All stakeholders in country’s politics will have to sit down and determine way forward. I have been in politics for 35 years. I will do politics. I am not convinced of election in these circumstances.

He said that solution of country’s problem is not with any single party. Only unity can solve problems. PTI remained in power. It did not sit in opposition but it was big party. PTI has role in politics. I had resigned from party post. I am not involved in any consultation. I pray that elections will be fair and transparent.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that my personal relationship with Nawaz Sharif, relationship of respect will remain. I had meeting in Qatar 10 days before Nawaz Sharif came to country. If he calls me then I will go. I have been with party in every good and bad time. Election theft has big hand in current state of country. If you don’t learn lesson even today, you will get into trouble in future.
