NA speaker, Dr Zakir call for unity among Muslim world

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasised need for unity among Muslim ummah, urging them to come together and work collectively to promote Islam’s true message globally.

During meeting with prominent religious scholar Dr Zakir Naik at Parliament House, he welcomed Dr. Zakir Naik and expressed his delight over his visit to Pakistan. Matters pertaining to challenges faced by Muslim ummah, interfaith harmony and other important issues were deliberated. Speaker said that Islam is complete code of life that promotes peace, tolerance and love. Ayaz Sadiq lauded services rendered by Dr Zakir Naik’s in spreading message of peace and love of Islam around world. He said that Constitution of Pakistan provides equal rights to all citizens and that rights of minorities are fully protected in country. He stressed that solution to challenges faced by Muslim ummah lies in unity and solidarity. Dr Zakir Naik praised love and hospitality of Pakistani people, stating. “People of Pakistan are very loving and caring”.

He emphasised on Muslim countries to shun their differences and unite in light of Holy Quran and Sunnah to confront challenges being faced by Muslim ummah. Dr Zakir Naik said that Islam is religion of peace, love and brotherhood and his missionary work aims to highlight true message of peace and love in Islam across world. He praised Pakistan’s role in promoting true teachings of Islam and fostering unity among Muslims. Later, Dr Zakir Naik, accompanied by Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, visited National Assembly Hall.
