ISLAMABAD: Resolution moved by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was passed by House and large number of lawmakers voted in favour of it. Reading out resolution, Asif said, “Heartbreaking events took place on May 9. Day should be counted as black day”.
National Assembly passed resolution stating that authorities concerned will be empowered to deal with social media propaganda against Pakistani institutions inside and outside country.
“Persons involved in such propaganda campaigns should be dealt with strictly according to law,” added resolution. According to Asif, resolution was way of condemning events of May 9 by Parliament.
Taking jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Asif said he strongly condemned violent protests that took place on day Imran Khan was arrested and immunity from attacks on military installations.
“India has regularly attacked bases in Pakistan, but he said attack was first in country from Mianwali and by staunch supporter of Imran Khan who single-handedly identified military sites,” he maintained.
Asif emphasised need to identify faces of those involved in attack on military installations.
Highlighting importance of defending national security institution, Asif said, “It is duty of every member of Parliament to defend Pakistan Army, even in absence of an incident like May 9 vandalism.”
