Murtaza Wahab says 'differently-abled' persons valuable to society

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that idea of inclusivity for development and improvement can create society where there is no room for any kind of discrimination according to Article 25 of our Constitution, things will change with new and young minds coming in politics and government sector and trend of bringing everyone together will grow, I congratulated organisers for organising Ida Rieu Inclusive Youth Parliament, it is an honour for me to participate in concluding session of event.
Addressing as chief guest closing session of first Ida Rieu Inclusive parliament where President of Ida Rieu Welfare Association Nadira Panjwani, Secretary Department for Differently able Persons, Government of Sindh Taha Farooqui and others were present Mayor Wahab offered institution to hold next meeting of Youth Parliament in council hall of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, we will provide all facilities for meeting.
Mayor Karachi said that people with different abilities are valuable to society. If such people participate in policy formulation and decision-making process in government sector, especially at local government level, then problems in our society will start to be fixed automatically.
Participation in youth parliament under Ida Rieu will awaken desire among youth to participate in central politics and public domain. I will invite Ida Rieu Inclusive Youth Parliament to KMC next year, he said, "Unfortunately, young people tend to avoid going to government sector until you work in government sector, how will you know what is policy making, how decisions are taken, what is politics and what is bureaucracy.
Nadira Panjwani said that youth parliament of Ida Rieu wants to unite diverse voices of youth so that they transcend all differences and work for an inclusive and equal society where every youth be valued member, an informed advocate and an agent of positive change, regardless of physical challenges.
