Karachi:  Seminar on Digital Sindh and the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected office bearers of the Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS) was held at the Karachi Gymkhana.

Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, while  delivering the key address at a seminar shed light on the prevailing atmosphere of discrimination in the country and expressed concerns about government institutions being unfairly defamed as part of a well-planned conspiracy.

He laid special emphasis on the need for an atmosphere based on harmony and peace for the sake of future generations. He hoped that the harmony will prevail and it will not what was in his own generation’s experience of the mega poit which was marred by strikes and disturbances.

A large number of  noted personalities including the Sindh Minister for Sports and Culture Dr Junaid Ali Shah, his mother Dr Asma Ali Shah,who is also a great sports promoter, along with central office-bearers of SJAS and representatives of sports associations like basketball's Ghulam Muhammad Khan, boxing's  Asghar Baloch, KCCA officials,  attended the event alongside a significant gathering of sports journalists Earlier, the Mayor hailed the SJAS contribution to sports and congratulated the newly elected governing body of the SJAS, and hoped that they will fully should the new responsibilities, which will result in raising the standards of sports journalism and also ensuring to safeguard the interests of journalists in sports arena.

He highlighted the importance of sports in soceity and hailed the rise in sports activities across the province, hailing the unearth of new talent in almost all sports.
