Murad says appearing in court for crime of providing 100MW power to city

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that after every two weeks, he has to appear before NAB court in Islamabad for crime he has committed to providing 100 MW of electricity from Nooriabad Power Plant to Karachi.
This is how he has been penalised for serving city and its people, but such cases would not stop him from serving people of province.
Speaking at inauguration ceremony of 18th My Karachi- Oasis of Harmony at Expo Centre he said that his government under PPP mode had established the Nooriabad Power plant, which provided Karachi with 100 MW of uninterrupted electricity. He said that decision of court was reserved for last four months and would be announced soon.
On law and order he said that law enforcement agencies with support of people of this city crushed criminals and restored law and order.
CM said that he was surprised how terrorists travelled from North Waziristan and Laki Marwat and reached Karachi and attacked KPO though Prime Minister chaired an Apex Committee meeting at Peshawar just after Peshawar blast. He termed PSL matches and My Karachi festival as proof of improved law and order in city.
He said that it was truly historic occasion for Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry which has organised 18th exhibition. He recognised late Siraj Qasim Teli’s services and contribution to his wonderful city.
He welcomed participation of all international and national exhibitors and people of Karachi. He added that exhibition was contributing to and promoting business activities and attracting foreign capital, which was need of hour.
Murad said that his government has been making all efforts to create conducive environment by reducing cost of manufacturing and fixing all irritants which were restricting this growth potential.
CM thanked and congratulated Chairman BMG Zubair Motiwala, President KCCI Tariq Yousuf, senior Vice President Tauseef Ahmed, Vice President Haris Agar, Muhammd Idrees and members of KCCI Managing Committees and business community’. Earlier, CM cut ribbon to formally inaugurate three-day exhibition. Sindh ministers, Sharjeel Memon, Saeed Ghani, Nasir Shah and Ikram Dharejo were present.
