Muneeb Butt just announced most unique role of his showbiz career and we are as excited as he is! Qalandar actor revealed that he will be essaying role of first trans assistant commissioner in his upcoming project alongside Saba Qamar.

While 2022 saw trans actor Alina Khan’s role in Joyland face backlash, it is great to see that more productions are giving space to trans people and their stories, if not actors in 2023. Butt, excited to challenge stereotypes, took to his Instagram with pictures from set to announce his latest untitled project.

“I am very excited to announce that I am playing unique character of first trans assistant commissioner in my upcoming project, something that breaks certain stereotypes in our society,” he captioned post.

Dressed in grey and white suit, he added that role has been “Most challenging one” of his career. “I had been anxiously waiting to reveal character that I will be playing soon. It has been most challenging role I have ever had to play, where I had to truly get out of my comfort zone.”  Concluding, he thanked his co-star Qamar, who was also photographed in post in pink shalwar kameez.
