Muharram: Sindh Ministers direct power supply companies to avoid load-shedding

KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Minister Local Government Saeed Ghani have assured the scholars that during the initial days of Muharram from 1st to 12th, K-Electric will provide continuous power supply at the places where Majalis and processions will take place.

During the meeting held at the office of the Sindh Energy Department, Minister directed HESCO, SEPCO and K-Electric to ensure continuous supply of electricity during these days.

The meeting was attended by Energy Secretary Mossadiq Ahmed Khan, Karachi Commissioner Hasan Naqvi, Syed Muhammad Taqi, Syed Shabir Raza, Ghafran Mujtaba, Syed Abbas Haider Zaidi, Syed Ali Irfan Abidi, Nazim Ali Rizvi, K-Electric, HESCO, SEPCO.

Nasir Shah and Saeed Ghani said on this occasion that HESCO, SEPCO and K-Electric informed the public on a daily basis through the media regarding not providing load shedding between 12 midnight and 6am and giving relief to the public and also the public should be informed about any reduction in peak hours and the report should be sent to them on a daily basis.

Ministers said that the government wants to give relief to the people by reducing the peak hours and not doing load shedding during the night hours so that they can get a good night's sleep.

It was also decided in the meeting that loadshedding should be made free on 8th, 9th and 10th of Muharram. HESCO, SEPCO and K-Electric also assured full cooperation in this regard.
