KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will unveil its ‘next plan of action’ in general workers’ meeting, summoned on Wednesday. According to details, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan summoned general workers meeting, wherein it will announce party’s ‘next plan of action’.

Sources told that general workers’ meeting will be held at KMC Ground in PIB Colony. A day earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan announced to boycott Local Government elections over reservations with Election Commission of Pakistan.

Addressing press conference MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced that party has decided to boycott LG elections, rejecting ‘fake’ delimitations of constituencies and voter lists.

“Until January 15, we left no stone unturned to bring justice to this city,” Khalid Maqbool said, adding that Local Body polls were already rigged. Lambasting Election Commission of Pakistan, he noted that it was electoral watchdog’s responsibility to keep an eye on constituencies, but it failed.

“Courts asked us to approach provincial government and Election Commission,” he said, reiterating that delimitations of constituencies and voter lists were fake in this LG elections. “Federal government could not have been formed without MQM’s help,” he added.

Meanwhile, MQM-P rejected results of Local Government elections. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mustafa Kamal and Dr. Farooq Sattar alleged that there was pre-poll rigging in Local Body elections. “People of Karachi and Hyderabad have given decision in their favour by not participating in elections.”

Maqbool Siddiqui said that MQM did not accept result of elections because people of Karachi did not turn to polling stations. “There was poor turnout in capital city of Sindh which suggested that people had also rejected elections.”
