MQM-P to grab Administrator Karachi slot soon, reveals Kh Izhar-ul-Hasan

KARACHI: MQM’s MPA in Sindh Khawaja Izharul Hassan revealed that party will get post of administrator in Karachi in next few days. Speaking with journalists, MQM leader spoke about its meeting with Sindh’s Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in which they also discussed about Local Body polls.
“We also spoke about Local Body elections. From Kashmore to Karachi, we have agreed upon same powers,” MQM leader said while sharing details with media. “A presentation was given about flood victims at CM House. We spoke with PPP about agreement and will soon reach a mutual action place.” Commenting on possibility of general elections in Pakistan, Khawaja Izhar said, “People are waiting, so elections should be held and elected people should serve them.”
Meanwhile, MQM’s MPA also indicated fear of violence when commenting on general elections, as Sindh and federal governments don’t have ample personnel to be deployed for security. “Do we want an election where there is bloodshed on every street?” MPA questioned adding that MQM wants peaceful polls. “Peace in Karachi has returned after immense sacrifice. Sindh government should not allow anyone to ruin law and order,” Khawaja Izhar said during presser.
Earlier, MQM-P and Pakistan Peoples’ Party leaders at Governor House here held parleys on sixth phase of dialogue on Local Body (LB). According to details, PPP and MQM-P leadership besides Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori participated.
CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Sharjeel Memon, Saeed Ghani and other PPP leaders represented PPP while MQM-P’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Faroogh Naseem, Faisal Sabzwari and Waseem Akhtar attended talks. Important decisions regarding Sindh LB Bill and MQM-P’s Charter of Rights were taken.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information Technology Syed Aminul Haq on Monday slammed Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for creating hurdles in release of funds and providing relief to the IT sector.
“If I do not remain a minister, you (Dar) too will not remain on the seat either,” Haq said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Karachi IT Park project near Karachi Airport on Monday.
Former Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, speaking at the occasion said that a much bigger IT park was required in metropolis but the initiative was a welcome step and it would ensure better facilities for the sector. He said that work at home was the future work strategy that would remain constant as it has become a practical and feasible approach around the world.
Earlier caretaker MD Pakistan Software Export Board Syed Junaid Imam delivered welcome speech and highlighted the salient features of the IT park project. The ceremony was also attended by lawmakers, Federal and Provincial Secretary IT, academia, representatives of EXIM Bank Korea, officials of Pakistan Software House Association, prominent business personalities and professionals.
