MQM-P rejects reports of withdrawal from senate polls

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has rejected media reports regarding withdrawal from Senate polls on Sindh seat. MQM-P spokesperson said in a statement that political party will contest Senate polls on Sindh seat on December 8. Political party has working relation with ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party but it will contest Senate elections.
Earlier today, Pakistan Peoples; Party awarded ticket to PPP-Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi for election on Senate seat that fell vacant due to resignation of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.
MQM-Pakistan a key ally of coalition government in Centre, will not field its candidate on Khokhar’s vacated Senate seat, PPP claimed earlier.
