ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leaders called on caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and raised serious concerns over high cost of electricity and Karachi issues.

According to details, MQM-P leaders Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaimkhani met PM Kakar and discussed problems of Karachi and high cost of electricity. Mustafa Kamal told Prime Minister, people of Karachi were being charged an additional Rs 3.81 per unit in power tariff. “Karachi can steer country out of economic crises being faced by Pakistan, not International Monetary Fund,” he pointed out.

He criticised Pakistan Peoples’ Party led Sindh government for not resolving problems of Karachi in last 15 years of its rule. He also urged caretaker government to take ‘direct interest’ in solving problems of metropolis.

MQM-P leader said that youth of Karachi can lead country on path of development if given proper opportunities by Centre.

He noted that immediate measures were needed for improvement of residential and industrial infrastructure in city. Kamal added that his party was alongside caretaker PM to get country out of crisis.

Protesting masses have been demanding that government should end provision of free electricity to notables and provide them relief as bills they have been receiving are more than their salaries.
