MQM-P holds review meeting on NA by-elections preparations

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) in a meeting reviewed preparation of by-elections on nine National Assembly (NA) seats in Karachi. According to details, meeting presided over by Deputy Convener Wasim Akhtar and Anis Kaimkhani was attended by members of Rabita Committee, Central Executive Committee and Election Cell. Sources told that meeting discussed about preparation regarding upcoming by-polls in nine constituencies. Meeting decided to open election offices in all nine constituencies and start public relation campaign.

Wasim Akhtar and Anis Kaimkhani will supervise election campaign while Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Khawaja Izharul Hassan and others will participate in public relation campaign.

Earlier Pakistan Peoples’ Party decided to contest by-polls on National Assembly seats and invited applications from party’s candidates. Seasoned PPP leader Farhatullah Babar had asked party candidates to submit their applications for party tickets by February 3.

Election Commission of Pakistan released schedule for by-polls and polls will be held on March 16 for which nomination papers can be received from February 6 to 8.
