MQM-P gears up for sit-in at Karachi’s ‘Fawara Chowk’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan completed preparations for its sit-in in Karachi scheduled for February 12 at Fawara Chowk. Sources said that MQM-P central leaders will stay at sit-in’s venue for 24 hours, whereas, activists from all towns will perform duties in phases. MQM-P workers have been directed to gather at Fawara Chowk at 4:00 pm.
MQM-P top leaders will convey next strategy of sit-in to workers. Workers have been advised to complete preparations for sit-in for an indefinite period. It was learnt that MQM-P leadership will formulate strategy for sit-in on daily basis. Yesterday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement announced to stage sit-in in Karachi and gave one-week ultimatum to Sindh government. Addressing General Workers’ session, MQM-P convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced sit-in on February 12 against ‘controversial’ Local Government polls, ‘Flawed’ delimitations and voter lists while giving one-week ultimatum to Pakistan Peoples’ Party led Sindh government. Siddiqui said that Sindh government admitted its mistakes in delimitations and later withdrew notification. Khalid Maqbool said that youth of Karachi have to take control of city, as authorities are failed to control street crimes in metropolis.
