ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan apprised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of their reservations over digital census, being held across country. According to statement issued by PM’s office, delegation of MQM-P comprising convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Minister for IT Syed Amin ul Haque called on Prime Minister. Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was also present during meeting.
Delegation congratulated Prime Minister on approval of Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill by National Assembly. MQM-P apprised PM Shehbaz of reservations over digital census and issues of Karachi.
Shehbaz Sharif directed for resolution of issues raised by MQM-P, and removal of their apprehensions regarding ongoing consensus. Earlier in March, MQM-P objected to time allotted for carrying out census while calling for extending time specified for self-enumeration, house enumeration and census.
Party penned down letter to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics regarding issue. According to letter sent by chief statistician of PBS, March 3 deadline for self-enumeration should be extended by at least 10 days since.
