Karachi: Senior Deputy Convener of MQM Pakistan Syed Mustafa Kamal said that party has succeeded in presenting case of wrong census in urban areas of Sindh with evidence and convincing higher authorities of country.

On letter of Senator Faisal Sabzwari, NADRA stated that number of ID cards and B-forms issued at address of Karachi is more than 19 million. Buildings, 7,000 blocks have been identified where either census personnel have not reached or even people have been undercounted. There are about 200 houses per census block while according to results received so far there are 860 blocks where there is only one person per house. Population of entire block is only 200 people which is impossible, according to records of K Electric number of residential meters is more than 3.4 million, 25 percent of them people do not have meters but using electricity while number of houses in census is only 2.9 million.

MQM will not allow anyone to encroach upon rights of Karachi and will not accept false census data, this he said addressing press conference in park adjacent to temporary centre of MQM Pakistan Bahadurabad.

He said that MQM’s top trend ‘Census Hamari Red Line’ woke Jamaat-e-Islami’s Naeemur Rehman. We are fighting case of Karachi effectively even when we are in government. Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf in past met Prime Minister, Chief Minister, ministers and Statistics Institute but with no avail. MQM leadership and workers’ demands are on evidences. MQM is fighting to save Pakistan by fixing Karachi. Other political parties cannot raise their voice for Karachi in their egos, he added.
