KARACHI: MQM Pakistan Malir Town in collaboration with Help International organised blood donation camp for children suffering from thalassemia.

Syed Shariq Jamal, member of the Sindh Assembly visited the camp along with joint organizers Safir Hassan, Saad Siddiqui, Junaid Yousufzai and committee members. Representatives from the UCs also attended the event. The camp aimed to collect blood donations for children affected by thalassemia, a genetic disorder that requires regular blood transfusions. Organisations like Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and Afzaal Foundation have also been working to support thalassemia patients through blood donation camps and awareness programmes. Thalassemia is a significant health concern in Pakistan, with approximately 5,000 children diagnosed with the major form of the disease every year. MPA Shariq Jamal said that initiatives like the blood donation camp play a crucial role in supporting thalassemia patients and promoting awareness about the disease. He also commended Help International for supporting this initiative in collaboration with MQM-P Malir Town.
