Momal Sheikh belongs to prominent showbiz family with her father, brother, cousins and uncles all successful in industry. Despite this, she began her career later than her family members because they did not initially allow her to pursue acting. Eventually, her husband supported her decision to join industry. However, due to her family's stature in industry, some people attributed her success to nepotism. During her appearance on Shan-e-Suhoor, Momal Sheikh acknowledged that her father, Javed Sheikh is prominent figure in entertainment industry. However, she emphasized that having family connections does not guarantee success in field. Producers are more likely to invest in an artist who is accepted by audience, regardless of their background.

Momal shared that after her first project, she faced one-year period without any work and had to attend numerous auditions to land new roles. However, she eventually realised that her career is her own journey and that producers may not have seen her work.
