ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi pledged to end the scourge of terrorism with unity and cooperation.

Interior Minister paid tribute to the FC and police officials for foiling the attack on police check-post in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In his statement, he said, “we pay tribute to martyred FC official Shehzad and police official Ijaz for sacrificing their lives for foiling the notorious intentions of terrorists with courage. He added, nation paid salute to young for defending the motherland with bravery and nation would always remember their sacrifices for the state.

Mohsin Naqvi stated, “We are proud of the courage of both young defenders.” Interior minister reiterated, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and FC officers were always on the frontline for the fight against terrorism and there was no example of their sacrifice and bravery. A policeman and an FC official were martyred when some unidentified terrorists attacked police posts in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday night, Dunya News reported. According to details, the terrorists used rocket launcher and heavy weapons in attack on a joint picket of police and FC in Khyber district due to which a policeman and FC official embraced martyrdom.

Police retaliated the attack which forced the terrorists to escape. A heavy contingent of police from the nearby police stations reached the spot after the attack and cordoned off the area. Police have also launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits.
