Islamabad: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said BJP has fixed his head money Rs 20 million for stating facts about Indian Prime Minister Modi.

In an interview to US channel, I did not say Modi butcher of Gujarat but these are words which were used for Modi after massacre of Muslims in Gujarat in 2002. Narendar Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat then.  I repeated only historical facts which were considered personal insult. After my remarks BJP has fixed Rs 20 million as my head money. Demonstrations were held in India.

Fixing head money for foreign minister of neighbouring country means crossing line, he observed.

Bilawal reached Washington DC, where he met with members of US Congress to discuss Pak-US relations He defended his recent ‘butcher of Gujarat’ remarks about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he was “Referring to historical fact”.

At UN conference last week, Bilawal had described Modi as “Butcher of Gujarat,” nickname he had earned for overseeing pogrom of Muslims in Gujarat in 2002 when he was state Chief Minister. He said that instead of being punished for 2002 massacre of over 2,000 Muslims in Gujarat, Modi was made Prime Minister of India.

Remarks were in response to Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar who had accused Pakistan of being “Epicentre of terrorism” for “Harbouring Osama bin Laden” This is PM of RSS and foreign minister of RSS. What is RSS? RSS draws its inspiration from Hitler’s SS.”

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto appreciated continuous support of Pakistani-American community towards development of Pakistan. “We are proud of achievements and contribution of Pakistani-American community,” he said in Washington. Foreign Minister expressed these views as he met leaders of Pakistani-American community. He termed Pakistani-American community an asset for ensuring strong Pakistan-US relations.
