Mobile application of Peoples Bus Service to be launched: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon announced to launch mobile application of Peoples’ Bus Service in a bid to facilitate people of Karachi. According to details, decision was taken during a performance review meeting of Bus Service chaired by Sharjeel Memon.

Sharjeel Memon was apprised of operations of bus service, new routes, RTS system and establishment of command-and-control room. Sindh Minister said that citizens would be able to track bus service and pay through mobile application. Meeting also decided to activate ITS system, which includes CCTV cameras, screens, live tracking and monitoring facilities.

Minister said that command-and-control room was being established in Sindh Mass Transit Authority, while mobile application and ITS system will be launched from November 30.

Earlier in October, the fares for Peoples Bus Service were jacked up from Rs 50 to Rs 100 after an extension in route. As per details, Sindh government has allowed National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation federal entity that operates and maintains Peoples Bus Service in province to increase fares of bus route in city.
