‘Missile programme’ in safe hands, PMO refutes rumours

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said country’s nuclear and missile programmes were “Safe in every way, completely foolproof, free of any pressure and absolutely independent” as it dismissed “Rumours” doing rounds on social media regarding safety of Pakistan’s strategic assets.
PMO statement stated that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) DG Rafael Mariano Grossi’s visit regarding peaceful nuclear plan is being “Shown in negative light” through “Press releases, questions and different claims”.
“State of Pakistan is responsible to protect this programme in every way,” read statement and added that programme was “National asset” that “Fulfills purpose in every way for which it was initiated”.
Earlier speaking on floor of Senate, PPP leader Raza Rabbani said Parliament must exert its authority to prevent other forces from indulging in affairs of legislature. He said Parliament should not bow before dictates from any quarters.
