ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada held meeting with parliamentary delegation of All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Freedom of Religion and Belief from United Kingdom here.
He said Pakistan has traditionally strong and strategically significant and long-lasting relations with UK, says an official statement issued here.
In response to question by one of delegates, Minister said there was strong constitutional and structural framework present in country for freedom and protection of rights of minorities.
He said Pakistan’s Constitution provide guarantees to minorities regarding freedom of religion, equal participation as well as right to preserve and promote their cultural identity, value and practices.
International human rights watchdogs show their vigilance on every single tragic incident happening in Pakistan but are easily overlooking persecution of religious minorities and atrocities of Indian forces in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
