Minister Overseas Pakistanis embarks on ten-day official visit abroad

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi embarked on a ten-day official visit abroad. He will visit Switzerland, Romania, Greece and Portugal where he will meet with concerned authorities and Pakistani community.
Purpose of foreign visit is to create new employment opportunities for Pakistanis in different countries, to discuss problems of Pakistani community with authorities of respective countries and to promote bilateral relations.
According to a press release, Minister will also meet Director General of International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva and discuss with him rehabilitation and relief of workers affected by recent floods in Pakistan. Ministry with support of ILO has already started cash-for-work programme for rehabilitation of flood-affected workers in Balochistan and Sindh, which will be extended to all affected areas of country. In a statement before departure, Sajid Hussain Turi said that Romania, Portugal, Italy, Greece and other western countries are in need of large-scale manpower and we are ready to sign agreements to send Pakistani workers and professionals to these countries.
He informed his first priority is to provide maximum facilities to overseas Pakistanis and solve their problems immediately and in this regard he has issued orders to community welfare attachés of respective countries to facilitate people of Pakistan in best possible way.
