Minister lauds Education Above All-Qatar role in uplifting status of students

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain received high level delegation led by CEO of Education Above All- Qatar Fahad Hamad Hassan Al- Sulaiti here.

Secretary Education Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry and other senior officers of Ministry and Professional Training including CEO of Taleemabad Haroon Yasin and representatives from Qatar Embassy Islamabad attended meeting. Rana Tanveer said that Education Above All Qatar is playing critical role in uplifting status of public education in Pakistan. Minister highlighted his desire to reduce number of Out of School Children in federal area in order to make it model for rest of country to follow, says press release.

He said above political motivation, he wishes to positively contribute towards future of youth of Pakistan. He said there are 53,000 out of school children in federal capital area and it is top priority to address this issue.

He said to address this challenge human resource needs to be developed in addition with financial support. He said it is imperative that we do something for our country and expressed his desire to make capital an ideal example for entire country.Delegation was briefed by Ministry and presented plan of Ministry and Professional Training to bring Out Of School Children to zero. Minister was told that current plans will cost approximately $ 9 million to bring OOSC number to zero.

He was apprised that special ‘Digital and Innovation Wing’ has been set up to formulate and implement strategies to address challenge of OOSC.
