Minister IT inaugurates Digital Lab in Nazimabad

Karachi: Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque along with Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Convener MQM Pakistan inaugurated Digital IT lab in Rashid Minhas Government School for Boys and Girls at Nazimabad No 1. Addressing as chief guest Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui highlighted importance of Karachi being financial hub has great significance and providing its youth 15 digital courses free of cost with state of art facilities will go long way towards betterment of lives of people of Nazimabad and country as well.
Dr. Khalid Siddiqui said that today's fast pace has changed everything in world. Everything changed except one who did not intend to change himself, nations who do not intend to change themselves God does not promise to change them. In this unfortunate province of Sindh, quota system was imposed to block way of education, you people are now growing up in this era where politics will not be able to block way of education? He said that hundreds of world's biggest companies have made ability and skills standard by eliminating degree requirement and we are still running after degrees and we have completely ignored skills and abilities.
Aminul Haque said that this is first time Digital IT lab is formed at government school in Pakistan. Our aim is to make underprivileged children equally efficient and productive for country, besides empowering them to live quality life in collaboration with Ignite.
"Event marked official launch of Digital IT lab, programme aimed at providing free IT education training in form of content writing, freelancing and other 15 courses free of cost. Lab is equipped with all modern gadgets and facilities required for market driven courses. This would prove great help in grooming underprivileged children of this school consisting of 300 plus students" he added.
He said, Digital IT lab will provide free of cost training with help of top trainers assisting these 300 students to acquire skills in information technology helping them earn living for themselves and for their families in this area.
It aimed to empower future generation with goal of strengthening national economy for prosperity and development of country. He said that since his joining IT and ITeS exports have grown exponentially and his focus has always been on ensuring transparency at all levels in his ministry.
He mentioned that under vision of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for first time Mobile Manufacturing policy is made in Pakistan after which Samsung, Nokia have started manufacturing of mobile phones in Pakistan. This will in long run will help in decreasing price of smart phone in Pakistan which is quite expensive. Further, Google has started operations in Pakistan and has given 45,000 scholarships in 2023 which is big achievement. This all will contribute towards GDP of Pakistan.
Earlier, CEO Ignite Asim Shehryar Hussain highlighted efforts to boost Skills and performance of National Incubations Centre established by company. Abbas Jafri MPA also addressed. Number of political personalities, teachers and male/female students attended.
