ISLAMABAD: Pakistan called on international community to put pressure on Israel to respect UN resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. In post on social media platform X, caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani said Israel turned lights off and cut all communication in Gaza as death toll rises.
He stressed not to lose sight of plight of innocent Palestinians in hour of darkness. “Pakistan calls on International community to exert pressure on Israel to respect UN Res demanding an immediate ceasefire,” Abbas further said in his post.
Gaza Health Ministry has said that more than 8,000 had been killed in Palestinian territory since start of current conflict with Israel on October 7. Internet connectivity in Gaza Strip is being restored, global network monitor Netblocks said Sunday, almost two days after it was cut off during heavy Israeli bombardment.
