ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Planning and Development Muhammad Sami Saeed asked provincial governments and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to submit their respective Master Plans with recommendations within one week.

He issued these directives while chairing meeting of special committee on building consensus for regulating conversion of agricultural land to housing societies in Islamabad.

Committee was established by Prime Minister to foster agreement on regulating conversion of agricultural land to housing societies across country.

Minister said there is dire need to preserve agricultural land keeping in view challenges being faced by country. He reiterated that government is taking serious steps to preserve agriculture land in country.

Meeting was informed by relevant stakeholders from provinces and Islamabad Capital Territory about existence of their respective Master Plans, their legal framework and mechanism to implement their laws.
