MGI, COP27 will open new avenues of development

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) and 27th session of Conference of Parties of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) would open new avenues of development in Pakistan and Middle East countries.
Ashrafi, who is also Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council in an exclusive talk with APP, informed that MGI signified Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international sustainability efforts and enabled region to help protect planet by clearly defining an ambitious road map that significantly contributed to achieving global targets. Regarding postponement of Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan, Ashrafi said visit was postponed due to personal engagements of Prince. As per reports, Crown Prince had not only postponed his visit to Pakistan but also delayed his visit to some other countries, he said adding, “As soon as his visit is rescheduled, it would be intimated to quarters concerned.”
