Pakistani film star Mehwish Hayat, known for her stellar performances in hit films like Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, has revealed her interest in entering the world of politics.
In an exclusive interview with a private news channel, the A-list actress shared her aspirations and hinted that politics could be the next chapter in her diverse career. Hayat, who has been a prominent figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry, disclosed that she has already begun studying political science. Reflecting on her educational journey, she mentioned that she completed a degree in arts before fully diving into acting.
“Education is essential before pursuing any career, and that’s why I have also started studying politics,” she explained. When asked about the possibility of a career shift into politics, Hayat expressed optimism about her future in the field. “The intention is to bring a positive change in the country. Whether I do that by entering parliament or forming my own political party, only time will tell,” said the actress, who has become one of Pakistan’s most influential public figures. Hayat, known for her bold and independent persona, also made an intriguing statement about the possibility of women entering high offices. “If a cricketer can become prime minister, then surely an actress can also become one as well,” she quipped, drawing parallels with Imran Khan’s political journey.
On the acting front, Mehwish Hayat made a strong return to television earlier this year with ARY Digital’s Ijazat, where she starred alongside her close friend and renowned fashion designer HSY (Hassan Sheheryar Yasin). She was also seen in the music video for Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s track Jatt Mehkma. Furthermore, Hayat teased her fans by hinting at a potential appearance in the much-anticipated season 5 of Emily in Paris. As Hayat continues to make waves in both the entertainment and political arenas, her fans are eagerly watching what she does next.
