Karachi: Land grabbers are once again attempting to grab government land in Sector 19 of Taiser Town, Scheme 45 in Malir Development Authority. MDA Estate and Enforcement Director Akhtar Meo explained attempts of land grabbers saying that land grabbers are invited their “specific group” of people to grab MDA land.

He confirmed people who are sitting on government land are not ‘salaab zadgaan’. They are used to come on call of land grabbers in past to grab MDA land. There is a total 42-acre of land in MDA Sector 19 in Taiser Town Scheme 45. This land included residential and commercial plots which have been balloted by authority already.

“I have written a letter regarding fresh attempt of encroachment by land grabbers to senior member Board of Revenue, Karachi Commissioner and West Deputy commissioner,” he added. He said West district administration has already arranged specific places for flood victims in district and setup 6 relief camps at different locations, where they can get even better facilities.

However, some “specific groups” on directives of land mafia come and setup their tents on MDA land in Scheme-45. He said land grabbers Ahmed Shah Kazmi, Sajjad Chana, Ameer Ali Channa and Anwar Brohi are active and attempting to grab MDA land. In letter, he requested the West Deputy Commissioner and SSP (anti-encroachment) to stop illegal activities”.

He said police, Rangers and district administration team along with four mobile vans are standing at spot, “but they do not take any action against land grabbers.”
