KARACHI: Ghee and cooking oil manufacturing companies have become completely unbridled as price of ghee in retail has shot up by Rs 80 per kilo in Karachi while that of cooking oil by Rs 45 per litre. As result of massive increase in prices, brand company’s cooking oil is now available for Rs 645 per litre while ghee for Rs 600 per kilo. Shopkeepers say that hike in prices has resulted in drop in sales.

Companies’ representatives, on other hand, say that containers of Palm Oil stranded at Karachi Port are reason for skyrocketing prices of these two items. People say that overall inflation had made their lives miserable as everything was now out of their reach.
