Masjid re-opens after extension work in IG Sindh Office

Karachi: Former IG Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam and current IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon after extension of masjid within walls of IG Sindh Office declared reopening it. On June 6, 1997 work on masjid was started and it completed on December 31, 1997 in period of less than six months. Later in year 2018, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam after assuming post of IG Sindh started project of expanding masjid and assigned responsibilities to DIG Security Maqsood Ahmed.
Expansion project of masjid completed with donations from philanthropists instead of government funds. After expansion, it has now capacity of about 2,000 worshipers with around 25 rows. Donors and contributors to expansion project include Dr. Kaleem Imam, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Maqsood Ahmed Memon, Irfan Ali Bahadur, Zeeshan Shafiq, Sohail Abbasi, while IG Sindh Masjid Architect Junaid Alam, Shakeel Ahmed, Hamza Khan and Aamir Siddiqui have played their role. IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon presented Holy Quran to Dr. Kaleem Imam, Maqsood Ahmed Memon and Pesh Imam of Masjid Hafiz Arshad.
