LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz said Parliament should play its role in bid to hold accountable those who were providing facilities to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

Expressing her reservations over Supreme Court’s decision, Maryam Nawaz said, “It is not enough from Cabinet to denounce verdict delivered by three-member bench.” Going back to 2018, she said, “Responsibility that was taken by Khosa and Saqib Nisar back in 2018, has now been taken by current bench.”

“Today’s verdict is last attack of conspiracy, which was started by handing over Punjab government to Imran Khan after rewriting Constitution,” she added. She said PML-N leadership had in past faced disqualification, adding that leadership will again bear disqualification if it happened. Talking about PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, she said, “ PML-N supremo’s disqualification over judgment that came on iqama was even intact today”.

On her Twitter she wrote today verdict is last blow of conspiracy which began by “Rewriting Constitution and presenting Punjab government on plate” to bench blue-eyed boy, Khan. Maryam termed three-member bench as “Khan facilitators” and said that this was done so he could be reselected under their presence and supervision. This bench has taken responsibility for work done by [Lt Gen] Faiz [Hamid], [ex-CJP Asif Saeed] Khosa and Saqib Nisar in 2018. Majority of Supreme Court revolted against this appalling and brazen facilitation and one-man show, PML-N scion tweeted, stressing that it is now time for Parliament to stop this facilitation using its Constitutional and legal hands.

She stated that it is not enough for Cabinet to reject verdict. PML-N politician wrote that those who tried to impose Favourite by defying Constitution and law should be brought to rostrum.
