Maritime, Customs foils attempt to smuggle narcotics worth Rs2bn

KARACHI: Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and Customs team foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics worth Rs 2 billion. As per details, smugglers were carrying narcotics in ship and moment the maritime ship reached they threw narcotics into sea. Maritime Agency arrested smuggler and recovered narcotics from sea. Deputy Collector said that narcotics confiscated from smugglers are worth Rs 2 billion.
During last month, Anti-narcotics force arrested 39 smugglers and recovered 6 ships and narcotics worth Rs 13 billion in 7 operations. Earlier, anti-Narcotics Force seized 2.68 kilograms of crystal ice from Qatar-bound passenger at Karachi Airport. Accused was trying to smuggle drugs in jam bottle to Qatar when ANF arrested him and foiled smuggling attempt.
