Malini speaks out about gender inequality in Indian film industry

Hema Malini, iconic Bollywood actress and aspiring politician has raised her voice against lack of substantial roles for female actors in Indian film industry. In recent interview, actress expressed her concerns over dominance of male actors in industry, stating that great roles are “Written specially” for them, not for her or her female counterparts.

Despite having some memorable roles in her career, Hema Malini believes that industry has not given female actors kind of roles they truly deserve. Actress also highlighted challenges female actors face in balancing their personal and professional lives and how they are often expected to compromise on their personal lives to succeed in industry, unlike their male counterparts.

Hema Malini’s comments come at crucial time. Actress has shed light on fact that there is still long way to go in achieving gender equality in Indian film industry. Hema Malini’s views have been praised by many for starting an important conversation about gender inequality in industry.
