Madad Ali pledges to assess ability of teachers to improve educational system

KARACHI: Interim Minister for Education and Professional Training Madad Ali Sindhi vowed to evaluate ability of teachers to correct educational system in country. He said that educational system would be put on right track.

Talking to media persons during his visit to Karachi Press Club here, he said that education and ability of teachers would be checked in educational institutions including universities of country.

He said that grand provincial meeting had also been convened to discuss matters of education and vowed to improve quality of education. Replying to question, he said that education was provincial subject after 18th Amendment. He said that Sindh, Punjab and other provinces had reservations over history subjects and they wanted to put personalities, they considered to include them in curriculum.

On private schools, he said that fees of private schools must be reasonable. Replying to another question, he said that Federal Urdu University was facing crisis and many employees of University were not receiving pensions. Earlier, speaking about issues of journalists, he advised his interim government to announce permanent fund for journalists, who give their twenty years to media outlet, to meet their expenses as ‘Guzara Allowance.’

He said that he would ensure provision of scholarships to children of journalist community. Madad Ali Sindhi said that he considered Karachi Press Club as his home and would make all-out efforts to get issues of journalists resolved. KPC President Saeed Sarbazi and Secretary Shoaib Ahmed were present.
