Lust for power maddening a man day by day: Asif Ali Zardari

KARACHI: Former President Asif Ali Zardari said lust for power is maddening a man day by day in country. “One man threatens Army, police and lady magistrate. He says arrest me if you have courage. Therefore, judiciary will have to see is this man above law.”

 

Taking a jibe at PTI Chief Imran Khan, PPP co-Chairman said “this man is criticising our Army every day. Officers and soldiers of our army are fighting war with terrorists. They are rendering sacrifice of their lives.  This man can subject me, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz to victimisation, he held. Can this man trample every law, he questioned?  Institutions and government will have to establish their writ, he remarked. According to Bilawal House spokesperson provincial ministers of Sindh called on former President Asif Zardari and they exchanged views on rains situation in province.  Overall political situation of country also came under discussion in meeting. Asif Zardari said all four provinces are facing emergency situation due to rains. Affectees in all four provinces are seeing towards us. Therefore all should set aside politics and focus their attention on affectees.

"Institutions and government will have to establish their writ or else law, Constitution and institutions will keep falling prey to Imran Khan's demand," a statement issued on Twitter stated. Asif Zardari also drew attention towards flood emergency situation in all four provinces and said that politicians should focus on flood victims instead of engaging in politics.
