Lodhi simultaneously play 12 at Engro Masters Chess Launch Program

KARACHI: International Master and apparent Grand Master Mahmood Ahmed Lodhi simultaneously tackles 12 players at the launch of Engro Mind Sports Chess Masters program which commenced at Friendship House Russian Cultural Centre here the of other day.
Mind Sports Association of Pakistan (MSAP) is conducting the program to upgrade the standards of chess in Pakistan and prepare masters.
16-time National Champion Mahmood Lodhi in his lecture and tips briefed over a dozen chess players including Wonder-kid Abu Bakr Vohra. 9-year-old Vohra, a student of Karachi Grammar Schooll, attracted and impressed the MSAP officials Tariq Rasheed Khan and Akhtar Sami and also Mahmood Lodhi and others. MSAP holding 3-month program in support from Engro Pakistan and Russian Chess Centre at the Friendship House.
Pakistan's two leading Fide Masters Muhammad Waqar and Omer Khan informed participants about various aspects - tactical, mental and movements of chess piece. Director of MSAP Tariq Rasheed Khan breifed the participants about the aim and objective of the program and said the basic purpose of this masters program was to produce quality players. He thanked Director of Russian Cultural Centre Mr. Prokhorov and Engro Pakistan for extending support for this Program.
Those who are attending the Engro Masters Program included Mother daughter ex National women champion Ghazala Shabbir, Fatima Shabbir, Sehrish Rehman, Jamaibah, Awwad Mirza, Abu Bakr Vohra Hasan Tariq, Aneeq Akhtar, Saadat Shaikh, Moutaz Anwar and Arsalan Bugti.
