ISLAMABAD: Due to intense heat, power load shedding has reached 14 hours in different areas of country. Short fall of electricity has been recorded as 6,188 megawatts. According to power division, overall production of electricity is 21,312 megawatts, while 27,500 megawatts electricity is required across country. Production of hydroelectricity is 8,800 megawatts.

Government thermal power plants are generating 850 megawatts of electricity. Production of electricity in private sector power plants is 8,833 megawatts. Production of electricity by wind power plants is 208 megawatts. Production of electricity by solar power plants is 103 megawatts. 107 megawatts electricity is being generated from bagasse. Production of electricity by nuclear power plants is 2,411 megawatts.
