List of top ten institutions causing huge loss to kitty released

ISLAMABAD: Documents revealed list of top ten federal institutions of country causing huge loss annually to national exchequer.

Quetta Electric Supply Company has been declared as number one among top ten loss-making companies whose losses reached Rs 108.50 billion in year 2020.

Document disclosed that National Highway Authority is second with losses of Rs 94.30 billion while losses of Pakistan Railway has exceeded Rs 50 billion. It said that the losses of Sukkur Electric are Rs 40.80 billion while losses of PIA in year 2020 have been recorded more than 36 billion rupees.

According to document, Sui Southern Gas Company’s losses are Rs 21.4 billion and Steel Mills’ losses are Rs 20.6 billion, while Hesco’s losses are Rs 17.7 billion by year 2020. Similarly, losses of PSO are Rs 14.8 billion and Peshawar Electric estimated at 14.6 billion rupees. On other hand, OGDCL is at top among top ten profitable companies. In year 2020, profit of OGDCL was more than 100 billion rupees, while profit of Pakistan Petroleum Limited was 49.4 billion rupees.

According to document, National Bank’s profit was 30.6 billion and Government Holdings Company’s profit was 29.8 billion, while National Power Parks Company’s profit was 28 billion and Port Qasim Authority’s profit was 15.4 billion. Profit of NTDC is Rs 9.3 billion and Pak Kuwait Investment Company is Rs 6.3 billion.

According to document, profit of Faisalabad Electric Company was more than 6 billion, while profit of Pakistan Agricultural Storage Service was also more than Rs 6 billion.
