Karachi: A meeting chaired by Chairman Liaquatabad Town Faraz Haseeb with Vice-Chairman Ishaq Timuri, Transition Officer Central Municipality Syed Hasan Abbas, focal person Zaheer and municipal officers reviewed rain emergency arrangements.

He said that possible steps should be taken to provide tax relief to people during rainy season. Under rain emergency, officers and staff including sanitation, parks, rescue and B&R department will perform services to people to minimise rain-related issues.

He said that special attention should be paid to seven chocking points and sloping areas. Gharibabad and Dakkhana Chowk should be kept in focus as rainwater accumulation is reported in these areas.

Timely drainage work should be started in areas besides to keep vehicular traffic flow in check. He directed officials of Mechanical and Engineering Department to make off-road vehicles usable. They should be dealt with when situation arises, he added. Integrated strategy of Liaquatabad Town administration will help to provide relief to people during rainy season.
