LAHORE: Lahore High Court ordered federal government to provide details of gifts given by Toshakhana by January 16 yesterday. Court heard petition seeking details of gifts given from Toshakhana. LHC Justice Asim Hafeez heard plea filed by a citizen Munir Ahmad.

Federal government lawyer opposed petition. He contended that details about Toshakhana could not be revealed. However, petitioner pleaded court to order government to make public details of all Toshakhana gifts which were taken/retained by government functionaries since 1947.

Petitioner’s lawyer argued that when gifts were taken out from Toshakhana, their details should be made public. After hearing arguments, judge ordered federal government to provide details of gifts given from Toshakhana by January.
