LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) expressed its dissatisfaction over report submitted by Punjab government to court on Jaranwala incident. LHC judge, Justice Asim Munir heard petition seeking constitution of judicial commission to investigate Jaranwala tragedy in which mob vandalised and torched houses and churches of Christians.

During hearing, Chief Secretary and Additional Home Secretary submitted report to court. Court however, expressed its dissatisfaction over report, directing Chief Secretary to submit detailed report.

Judge remarked that if report would not be satisfactory next time, then court would summon Chief Secretary in personal capacity. During its previous hearing on Monday, High Court directed Assistant Advocate General to submit report on matter.

Petition was filed by Shehbaz Soraya Advocate and another by Grace Bible Fellowship Church. Petitioners said that over 600 people were involved in vandalising and violence against Christian citizens and pleaded for constitution of judicial commission to probe incidents against Christian community in Jaranwala on August 17.
