Voguing competition series was terminated and removed off streamer’s site in early December and legendary judge is speaking out against decision. “@hbomax,” dancer wrote in December 20 tweet. “I’m gagging at how y’all just wiped Legendary off of your app as if it never existed.”
Every episode of the show included a competition between groups of fashion houses at themed ball. Viewers learnt more about motivational performers and backstories of each house throughout course of episode. Maldonado, Jameela Jamil, Law Roach and Megan Thee Stallion, who was later replaced by Keke Palmer were as judges for Dashaun Wesley-hosted competition series.
A number of cost-cutting moves at HBO Max, including cancellation and removal of shows like FBoy Island, Westworld and Love Life, led to demise of Legendary. Series will now be available on third-party platform FAST.
“While Legendary is unfortunately just latest LGBTQ-inclusive programming to get canceled by their network this year, creative team and Scout Productions prioritised uplifting unheard talent and voices and we’re hopeful that these types of stories are able to be told again.”–Agencies
