Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said perpetrators of May 9 incidents would be brought to justice to give exemplary punishment for attacking state institutions and desecrating martyrs’ memorials.

Addressing ceremony, held under auspices of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to pay tribute to martyrs and express solidarity with their families here, he said it was matter of pride to be among heirs of martyrs.

Premier said entire nation salutes to heroes who laid their lives for country and their children. Prime Minister inspired by bravery and patience stories narrated by martyrs’ heirs.

“Martyrs are precious heroes of nation. Stories of martyrs needed to be written in golden letters,” Prime Minister told gathering.

“May 9 was despicable move was made to divide Pakistan and was an attempt to insurrection within Pakistan. Rioters revolted against state,” Shehbaz Sharif said.  On May 9,there was division within forces and an attempted coup, he added.

He assured people that no one will be able to touch those who have no role in May 9. “Those responsible for May 9 will be punished,” PM said.

Prime Minister said 250 million people of Pakistan will not tolerate such acts in future as elements involved in them on May 9 last year hatched rebellion against state of Pakistan and attempted to create divisions in Armed Forces.

Responding to question raised by mother of martyr, Shehbaz Sharif assured that law will take its course and perpetrators will be given exemplary punishment so that no one can dare to think of repeating such acts.

Paying rich tribute to martyrs, he said entire nation is proud of martyrs’ sacrifices and acknowledges contribution of armed forces in wartime, floods or any other calamities to help needy.
