KW&SC lays down new canal from Hub Dam

KARACHI: Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) in cooperation of Sindh government, laid new canal from Hub Dam and restore existing canal is expected to be completed in next 13 months’ Once completed, this project will benefit residents of District West, District Central, District Kemari, Liyari Town and other areas.

Considering water shortfall in Karachi, Centre should immediately release all funds to complete K-IV project promptly, so that city’s water issues can be resolved swiftly. Mayor Karachi and Chairman of Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation Barrister Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui during meeting with various elected municipal representatives of Baldia, Mominabad, Orangi, Morro Mirbhar and Liyari Town at Chairman’s Secretariat in Karsaz assured elected representatives of immediate resolution of all complaints and issued on spot directives to relevant Water Corporation officers, mandating that all water supply and sewerage issues across city be addressed on priority basis.  He emphasised that providing better water supply and sewerage facilities throughout city is among our top priorities. Mayor Karachi stated, “We are all one, Karachi is our home and therefore, we all need to work together for betterment of Karachi.”  He gave strict instructions to Water Corporation officers to resolve water supply and sewerage issues in collaboration with all elected municipal representatives.

Chief Operating Officer of KWSC Asadullah Khan, Mayor Karachi’s spokesperson for political affairs Karam Ullah Waqasi, Rasheed Haroon, Jaman Durwan, Dil Muhammad and senior officials attended. During meeting, various elected municipal representatives highlighted different issues regarding water supply and sewerage in their respective areas, stressing that all problems should be addressed on priority basis.
