KARACHI: The Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) announced that due to K-Electric’s (KE) annual maintenance work, there will be a shortfall of 100 million gallons of water per day (MGD) to Karachi on January 5.
The KWSC Spokesperson said that the KE wouild carry out the first phase of its annual maintenance work for 2024-25 at the Dhabeji Pumping Station on January 5.The maintenance activities will occur from 8am to 8pm, resulting in a 12-hour power shutdown at the station.During this period, the electricity supply to various feeders of the Dhabeji Pumping Station will be partially disrupted. Consequently, the city will experience a reduction of 100 million gallons per day (MGD) in its water supply.Despite this shortfall, the Spokesperson KWSC confirmed that the city’s regular supply of 550 MGD out of 650 MGD will remain unaffected. The Spokesperson KWSC urged residents to store water in advance and use it cautiously to avoid inconveniences.
