KWSB taking measures for smooth water supply across city before Rabi-ul-Awwal 12: MD

KARACHI: On directives of Minster Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and VC KWSB Syed Najmi Alam, MD Board Muhammad Rafiq Qureshi issued emergency order to officers. Take special measures for arrangements for celebrating Eid Milad-Ul-Nabi S.A.W.W. He issued orders effective measures should be taken for water supply and drainage throughout city before 12 Rabi-Ul-Awwal and by completely eliminating all complaints of drainage in masajid, madrassas, monasteries, shrines, reception camps, especially procession routes of Eid Milad-Ul-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) and to  provide better facilities to citizens by putting rings slabs and covers on all open manholes.

He directed SE’s of all districts to visit concerned districts to improve water supply and drainage arrangements during Rabi-Ul- Awwal and to closely monitor ongoing works. He issued instructions to CE Water Muhammad Hanif Baloch, CE Sewerage Aftab Alam Chandio and Incharge Hydrant Cell Muhammad Azam Khan to contact district administration, municipal administration, all related stakeholders especially Anjuman Ghulaman Mustafa, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and central leaders of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat should be fully cooperated. 

Incharge Hydrants Cell said they will be directed by concerned district administration and law enforcement agencies to meet requirement of drinking water for public and required water tankers should be provided to masajid, madrassas, monasteries, shrines, reception camps and procession routes. MD directed all executive engineers to be on high alert along with their subordinate staff with Jetting and suction machines to deal with any emergency. He said that by implementing special instructions of Minster Nasir Hussain Shah and VC KWSB Syed Najmi Alam, KWSB staff is working day and night to provide better facilities to citizens.
